Our client, a private-equity owned company in the technology services industry, is building on their already outstanding team here in Tampa Bay. They are currently seeking an experienced accountant to supplement their team. The Project Accountant is a newly created role, due to growth, and will have a nice blend of responsibilities, including transactional accounting, reporting, consolidations, technical accounting, financial systems, processes & controls, and TONS of innovation! The Project Accountant will have the opportunity to make their mark as processes, tools and templates are further enhanced and learn under an outstanding mentor. Project Accountant Job Duties: 

  • Works closely with Project Managers to update project plans
  • Maintains accurate input of POs and COs in ERP
  • Assists with Project Billing
  • Assists with Invoice Forecasting
  • Conducts project reviews with Project Managers on a bi-weekly/monthly basis
  • Submits monthly invoices to respective client portals
  • Updates Invoicing Forecasting Report
  • Works with PMs to generate client specific project reporting
  • Other accounting tasks as needed related to projects
  • Monitors and analyze costs, billing and revenue associated with projects
  • Investigate project plan variances and work with PMs to
  • Other duties assigned may include month-end and YE closing tasks
  • Reports directly to Senior Accounting Analyst

Project Accountant Skills/Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 1+ years professional experience with exposure to complex, multi-entity environments.
  • Comfort with fast-paced, ever-evolving environments
  • Knowledge of Deltek (Ajera) or similar accounting software package a plus
  • Knowledge of Smartsheet platform a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Possess positive attitude & team-player
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
