Controller Job Duties:

• Manage the activities of the Accounting Department while working with Senior Management.
• Responsible for month-end and year-end close and subsequent consolidations
• Develop and build out infrastructure to support ongoing revenue trajectory
• Maintain the GL and chart of accounts and provide adhoc reporting for leadership
• Serve as the SME for accounting policies, technical accounting questions, SOPs, and serve as the main contact for external auditors
• Experience with managing ERP integration and post integration support
• Supervise accounting staff, set their priorities and goals while ensuring they produce accurate and timely work.
• Prepare consolidated full-cycle internal and external financial statements
• Manage a smooth and timely month-end close including debt reporting, fixed assets accounting, compliance, etc.
• Review and make adjusting journal entries when necessary
• Serve as a liaison between accounting and operations and work cross-functionally with internal departments to implement system/process enhancements
• Perform other special projects related to subsequent integration and process optimization
• Develop strong and productive relationships with business partners
• Support ERP/database improvements and streamline financial close and reporting processes
• Special projects as needed and other duties as assigned

Controller Skills/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required; CPA strongly preferred
• 7+ years of experience, preferably with a mix of public accounting and manufacturing/distribution/CPG industry exposure
• Previous leadership experience and proficiency in a large ERP system required
• Knowledge in utilizing data visualization / reporting tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Proficient in MS Office and Excel
• Excellent analytical, teamwork, and leadership skills
• Strong planning and organization skills and understanding of the importance of deadlines
• Superb communication skills required
