Accountant Job Duties:
- Lead the development of cost control systems, standard costing, and financial analysis.
- Handle month-end close, accruals, reconciliations, financial statement prep, inventory accounting, etc.
- Analyze product costing, variances, and manufacturing expenses while maintaining confidentiality.
- Prepare and manage financial reports on gross margins, cost structures, and variances.
- Conduct annual standard cost updates and monitor inventory transactions.
- Identify scrap cost drivers and recommend improvement initiatives.
- Analyze profitability by customer and product while safeguarding sensitive data.
- Support product cost analysis and confidential pricing negotiations.
- Manage inventory reconciliations, cycle counts, and ERP system reporting.
- Maintain KPI dashboards for scrap and inventory accuracy.
- Execute month-end close processes, including financial reconciliations and variance reporting.
- Collaborate with finance leadership to ensure a timely and accurate close.
- Handle special projects and provide confidential financial insights.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, ensuring discretion in all activities.
Accountant Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- 5+ years of experience in accounting roles, focusing on inventory management and cost accounting
- Must possess strong GAAP knowledge
- Advanced Excel experience required
- Prior experience with a large ERP system
- Ability to meet strict deadlines, both independently and as part of a team
- Detail oriented and the ability to deliver work products with a high degree of accuracy
- Strong verbal and written skills, and the ability to convey complex information
- Attention to detail, able to learn quickly, ask questions, document processes
