Senior Accountant
Job Description
Senior Accountant | $95K–$125K + Bonus
Location: Hybrid in Tampa Bay Area | Full-Time
A high-growth, well-respected organization in the insurance and financial services industry is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join its dynamic team. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative setting, enjoys complex financial reporting, and is eager to contribute to a high-performing finance function.
What You’ll Do:
- Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and intercompany balancing
- Assist with multi-entity consolidations and statutory financial reporting
- Maintain monthly accounting support workpapers and ensure compliance with accounting principles
- Analyze accounts and variances; prepare internal reporting packages for management
- Support premium tax filings and other regulatory reports
- Collaborate with third parties to ensure accurate financial data and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with audit and tax preparation processes
- Contribute to supplemental financial exhibits and board-level reporting
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (required)
- 2–3+ years of experience in statutory accounting within the P&C insurance industry
- Solid understanding of GAAP and internal controls
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large datasets
- Ability to meet deadlines independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Flexibility to work across time zones and occasionally outside standard business hours
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or CPA candidate
- Experience with Insurance Accounting Suite (IAS) or similar general ledger systems
