Staff Accountant
Job Description
Staff Accountant | $70k–$85k| Full-Cycle Accounting, Collaborative Team
Location: Tampa Bay Area | Hybrid | Full-Time
A growing organization is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its lean and collaborative finance team. This role offers exposure to full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, fixed assets, and month-end close. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and enjoys digging into processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and is looking to expand their experience across the full balance sheet, including multi-currency transactions, deferred revenue, and ASC 606 applications.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and currencies
- Reconcile fixed and intangible asset accounts
- Support domestic and international tax postings and compliance activities
- Analyze monthly revenue and cost of sales for proper posting and ASC 606 adjustments
- Prepare documentation for internal and external audits
- Assist with tax filings and returns as needed
- Contribute to annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes
- Review AP bills and expense reports for proper coding
- Conduct monthly flux analysis across accounts and cost centers
- Record journal entries with complete audit trail documentation
- Perform complex account analysis for allocation entries
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver financial reporting
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities
- Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and internal controls
- Maintain and update standard operating procedures
- Participate in special projects and ad hoc requests
- Continuously seek process improvements and support internal controls
- Conduct financial research and perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred (will consider candidates with equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience with a degree, 5+ years without
- Experience in small to mid-sized companies preferred
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
- Experience with Sage Intacct, Salesforce, or Vertex O Series a plus
- Familiarity with deferred revenue and ASC 606 preferred
- Exposure to multi-currency and FX accounting a plus
- Self-starter with a process improvement mindset
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
