Accounting Manager
Job Description
Accounting Manager | $110k–$130k | Leadership Role, Financial Integrity
Location: Heavy Hybrid | Full-Time
A mission-driven, globally recognized organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead its core financial operations. This role is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about maintaining financial accuracy, mentoring a team, and driving process improvements.
You’ll oversee general ledger activities, financial reporting, and compliance with GAAP and IFRS, while supporting audits, budgeting, and cross-functional initiatives. This is a high-impact role with visibility across departments and the opportunity to shape internal controls and accounting policies.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and mentor a team of senior, staff, and associate accountants
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and payroll
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Review account reconciliations and recommend adjusting entries as needed
- Prepare financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual) for internal and external stakeholders
- Analyze budget-to-actual variances and provide insights to leadership
- Develop and refine accounting policies and procedures in alignment with GAAP/IFRS
- Support domestic and international audits, including documentation and inquiries
- Assist with tax filings and compliance across multiple jurisdictions
- Conduct internal audits to evaluate financial controls and processes
- Collaborate with other departments to support financial decision-making
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls
- Stay current on changes in accounting standards and industry trends
- Perform ad hoc reporting and special projects as assigned
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s preferred
- CPA certification a plus
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in a supervisory or managerial role
- Strong understanding of ASC606, particularly deferred revenue
- Experience in a subscription-based industry highly preferred
- Multi-currency and FX experience highly preferred
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
- Experience with Sage Intacct preferred
- Solid understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and internal controls
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
