Controller | Tampa Bay Area | Competitive Compensation
Our client has experienced rapid and significant growth in a short period of time, resulting in increasing complexity across its financial operations, reporting, and capital structure. This Controller role is critical to sustaining that growth and ensuring the finance organization scales effectively. Leadership is highly engaged and uses performance and impact as criteria for advancement, providing high performers with opportunities to expand their scope and move into other areas of the business over time.
About the Role
The Controller partners closely with the Chief Accounting Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and finance leadership to support financial consolidation, company-wide cash flow management, and lender compliance. This role is responsible for GAAP financial reporting, liquidity analysis, and oversight of corporate accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the CAO/CFO and finance leadership on financial consolidation and enterprise-level cash flow management.
- Prepare and maintain detailed cash flow analyses to support forecasting, liquidity planning, and lender reporting requirements.
- Lead the preparation of lender compliance packages, including required schedules, certifications, and supporting documentation.
- Draft monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP, including preparation of footnotes and financial disclosures.
- Oversee corporate accounting functions, including insurance programs, corporate contracts, corporate accounts payable, debt tracking, etc.
- Manage and support the accounts payable team, ensuring accurate, timely processing and appropriate internal controls.
- Support debt reporting and covenant compliance through accurate reconciliation, reporting, and coordination with external lenders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP financial reporting and disclosure requirements.
- Experience with cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and lender compliance reporting.
- Experience overseeing corporate accounting operations and accounts payable processes.
- Ability to work closely with senior finance leadership and external stakeholders.
