Accounting Manager Job Duties: 

• Lead & execute month-end close duties, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Review accounts, investigate unusual variances or transactions
• Possess strong GAAP knowledge and offer recommendations to improve efficiencies and profitability
• Manage annual audit interface and supervise, develop team members
• Ensure compliance with all accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws
• Oversee accounting operations for multi-site business
• Document processes and ensure internal controls are effective
• Analyze financial data for trends, opportunities, areas for improvement
• Manage special projects and ad hoc duties

Accounting Manager Skills/Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. Masters degree a plus
• CPA and public accounting track a plus, but not required
• Mid-to-large sized company experience
• Possess a positive collaborative attitude with prior leadership experience
• Self-motivated and independent worker with excellent knowledge of GAAP
• Knowledge of ERP systems
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Excel, with the ability to use tools and shortcuts to work efficiently and effectively
• Solid critical thinking and attention to detail
• Strong planning and organization skills and understanding of the importance of deadlines
• Ability to flourish in a high-growth, dynamic environment with changing priorities
• Superb communication skills required
