 Accounting Manager – Special Projects Job Duties: 

• Oversee and manage cost accounting operations, ensuring accurate cost allocation and reporting.
• Develop and maintain standard costing systems, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, cost of goods sold (COGS), and gross margin performance.
• Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and recommendations to optimize profitability.
• Partner with operations and supply chain teams to improve cost efficiencies.
• Monitor and analyze cost trends, identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes related to cost accounting.
• Reconcile inventory accounts and support audits with cost-related data.
• Implement and improve cost accounting processes and internal controls.
• Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Assessing the documentation, reviewing what currently exists within the cost accounting process, and recommending/implementing correct processes.  
• Understand what's driving the differences in standard cost vs. actual.  
• Supervises 1 direct report. 

 Accounting Manager – Special Projects Skills/Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA certification required 
• Big 4 public accounting experience required
• 6+ years cost accounting within a manufacturing/inventory-centric environment  
• Large ERP system required
• Process improvement mindset and someone who wants to maintain a sense of ownership over their work. 
• Solid technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills required. 
• Strong attention to detail and superb communications skills required
