The Associate, Corporate Development position has been created with a primary focus to provide strategic financial guidance and process innovation to support the organization’s growth. The ideal candidate will have prior, proven deal experience with high growth, mid market companies. Associate, Corporate Development Job Duties:
- Collaborate with Corporate Development and senior executives on strategic and financial assessments for acquisitions and high-impact initiatives.
- Engage in all transaction phases, from initial discussions through to finalizing the deal.
- Identify and assess acquisition opportunities; develop financial models to assess potential acquisitions.
- Contribute to building the case for acquisitions, with a focus on strategic fit, market relevance, business impact, and financial rationale.
- Assist with due diligence processes for acquisition evaluations.
- Recognize risk factors affecting transaction value and coordinate with relevant teams to address.
- Act as a point of contact between acquisition targets and internal experts to ensure thorough due diligence and seamless coordination.
- Compile and distill insights from due diligence reports, preparing executive summaries and presentations for the board.
Associate, Corporate Development Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a finance-related field required; CFA or CPA certification is a plus
- 1-4 years of experience in financial strategy or corporate development
- Relevant background in corporate development and M&A, coming from investment banking, transaction advisory, private equity or venture capital
- Excellent financial analytical capabilities including pro forma’s, financial modeling, and more
- Exceptional communication abilities, written and verbal, and professionalism in executive discussions, situations with competing priorities and deadlines
- Ability to manage the process and influence stakeholders
- Advanced skills in technical analysis and data interpretation
- Strong leadership potential with a collaborative approach in team settings
- High attention to detail, strong organizational capabilities, and superior communication skills
