Location: Tampa, FL – In-office
Compensation & Benefits: $200K–$300K (commensurate with experience), robust discretionary bonus, full family paid benefits, 401k with match, profit sharing, and generous PTO
About the Role
We are seeking a strategic and operationally focused Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial operations and technology functions of a highly respected professional services firm. This is a high-impact, visible role that partners closely with firm leadership and key committees to drive financial strategy, operational efficiency, and long-term growth.
The CFO will oversee Finance/Accounting and Information Technology, while collaborating with leaders across marketing, recruiting, HR, and operations. This position requires a polished, diplomatic professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and can present complex financial data to diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide financial leadership and direction to support firm strategy and client service excellence.
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash management, billing, collections, payroll, trust accounting, and compensation analysis.
- Serve on key committees (Management, Compensation, Profit Sharing) and deliver results to stakeholders.
- Establish and monitor financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard firm assets.
- Manage relationships with external accountants, banks, and consultants, lead year-end tax planning and profit-sharing processes.
- Collaborate with IT leadership to strengthen cybersecurity, optimize technology adoption (including AI tools), and support sustainability initiatives.
- Partner with leadership on disaster preparedness planning, office lease negotiations, and insurance renewals.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- CPA strongly preferred
- Background in public accounting (Big 4 advisory experience highly valued)
- 10+ years managing financial operations
- Strategic thinker with exceptional communication, diplomacy, and resilience
