Controller | $225k + Bonus potential + Excellent Benefits
Location: Tampa, FL | On-Site | Full-Time | Direct Hire
We’re seeking a Controller to lead a large, multi-location accounting team and drive transformation within a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization, including explore shared services/center of excellence creation. This role will oversee core operational accounting functions, implement GAAP-compliant policies, and spearhead process and technology improvements such as procure-to-pay and inventory systems. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with strong technical accounting skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a proven track record of managing change and mentoring teams.

What You’ll Do:
- Oversee full-cycle accounting for core operational functions: AP, AR, revenue, inventory, and payroll
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Build strong relationships with accounting and finance leaders to ensure timely, accurate financial statements
- Drive process transformation and technology implementations (procure-to-pay, inventory systems)
- Ensure proper reconciliations and analyses of general ledger accounts
- Design and maintain internal controls to manage financial risk
- Lead a geographically diverse team and mentor for growth and development
- Collaborate across corporate and regional teams for efficient reporting
- Coordinate with external auditors for successful audit and tax engagements
- Champion continuous improvement and automation initiatives
What You Bring:
- 12+ years of accounting experience, with both public and private backgrounds strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s degree a plus
- CPA license preferred; strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP required
- Strong experience within a Shared Services / Center of Excellence environment
- Proven experience leading multi-location accounting teams
- Track record of driving process transformation and technology implementations
- Experience with Sage Intacct and system implementations a plus
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including ability to engage senior leadership
- Strategic problem-solving, project management, and team-building skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
