Job Description
Our long-time manufacturing client is seeking a hands-on cost accounting leader. This Controller will work closely with the team in working with key operational stakeholders, and will handle full cycle accounting oversight, reporting, inventory cost accounting analysis and will mentor team. - Highly competitive compensation of $120,000-$145,000, plus 10-20% discretionary bonus (commensurate with experience)
Job Duties:
- Oversee accounting daily operations including: accounts payable/receivable, cash management, general ledger, budgeting and forecasting, variance analysis, inventory costing, check runs, fixed asset, loans, etc.
- Manage month end financial close and prepare consolidated financial statements
- Manage cash activities and bank reporting
- Oversee inventory costing in a multi location, standard costing environment
- Balance Sheet with account reconciliations
- Monitor accounting KPIs
- Work closely with CFO to prepare annual budget
- Manage company’s commercial insurance needs
- Adhere to proper accounting methods, policies and principles
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
- Serve as primary contact for external auditors
Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA plus
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing company
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Experience with Macola a plus
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to manage and develop a team of professionals
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strong Excel required
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and completeness
