Data Analyst Job Duties:
- Support the tax team with regular reviews and updates of financial data.
- Monitor and analyze trends to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies or irregularities in financial data.
- Perform in-depth research to maintain compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Assist in preparing reports summarizing tax data and compliance updates.
- Support the Tax Manager with data entry, data analysis, and tax compliance.
- Ensure timely updates to systems in response to changes in tax policies or laws.
- Participate in the implementation of new procedures to enhance data accuracy.
- Support the documentation of processes to improve compliance and efficiency.
- Assist in preparing for external audits by organizing and validating tax records.
- Contribute to developing training materials to help team members stay informed on tax updates.
Data Analyst Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting preferred
- Extreme proficiency in Excel and data manipulation
- Ability to handle large datasets and spreadsheets
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in tax/accounting or a related field
- Sales tax experience a plus
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment
- Computer literacy and ability to pick up new skills quickly
- Must possess solid critical thinking skills and the ability to successfully work independently
- Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively and work within tight deadlines
- Superb attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and excellent communications skills required
