Divisional Controller
Location: Tampa, FL (Hybrid)
Compensation: $150,000–$170,000 base + ~15% bonus
Overview
A rapidly expanding multi location organization is seeking a Divisional Controller to oversee financial operations for a group of business units within the division. This position focuses on monthly close activities, financial reporting, operational support, and the rollout of standardized processes across multiple locations. The role collaborates closely with FP&A, centralized accounting resources, and an offshore support team.
The position begins with hands on involvement and transitions toward higher level oversight as the division continues to scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full monthly close process for a portfolio of divisional locations.
- Lead consolidation activities and contribute to building scalable, consistent accounting processes across the organization.
- Direct and support offshore accounting resources handling daily tasks such as reconciliations, AP, AR, and other operational activities.
- Review financial statements, KPIs, and variance analyses, providing clear insights to divisional leadership.
- Serve as a finance partner to local operational teams, providing guidance on accounting matters and supporting day to day questions.
- Drive adoption of standardized accounting procedures and help implement process improvements across business units.
- Prepare monthly reporting packages, delivering concise performance commentary and actionable analysis.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Ten or more years of progressive experience with full cycle general ledger close.
- Prior experience overseeing staff or managing offshore/remote accounting support.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, reporting requirements, and multi entity workflows.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic, evolving environment.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem solving skills.
Qualifications Preferred
- CPA certification.
- Experience working within a multi location or multi unit structure.
- Background in high growth, acquisitive, or private equity backed environments.
- Familiarity with NetSuite or comparable ERP systems.
- Experience with AP automation platforms such as Ramp or similar tools.
