External Financial Reporting Manager Job Duties: 

• Manage all reporting and financial compliance matters
• Responsible for the generation of financials in their entirety (including cash flows)
• Serve as the first line review for a variety of reporting requirements (including traditional financial statements, quarterly “SEC-like” financials, specialized reporting for PE sponsors, lender reporting, etc)
• Perform the initial draft of disclosure requirements and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP for all financial reporting
• Will have exposure to complex accounting pronouncements (e.g., revenue recognition, VIE’s, acquisitions, derivatives) and assess their overall impact on the company
• Continuously monitor and research changes in accounting standards and drafting memos for management, as necessary
• Coordinate the external auditors and provide support as requested
• Identify where internal controls are needed and assist the outsourced IC vendor with process changes related to financial reporting
• Communicate the timing and project management of the financial reporting process
• Identify areas of improvement and provide recommendations to management
• Perform ad hoc and special projects, as assigned

External Financial Reporting Manager Skills/Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance required; CPA certification strongly preferred
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Public accounting experience or a mix of industry & public accounting, strongly preferred
• Experience generating a full set of financial statements
• Exposure to specialized reporting preferred
• Advanced technical research skills required
• Highly proficient in a variety of technology platforms and superb Excel skills
• Strong leadership skills and previous supervisory experience highly preferred
• Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and exceptional communications skills required
