Finance Manager Job Duties:
- Provide strategic financial guidance to operations, supporting budgeting, forecasting, and performance optimization.
- Analyze financial statements for multiple business units, offering insights to enhance margins and operational efficiency.
- Utilize advanced analytical tools (e.g., business intelligence platforms, SQL-based reporting) to track key financial trends and generate actionable insights.
- Conduct cost assessments, including inventory and waste analysis, to optimize resource utilization and reduce unnecessary expenditures.
- Perform labor efficiency reviews, analyzing workforce productivity, wage structures, and scheduling to improve cost-effectiveness.
- Assess business hours optimization, identifying revenue opportunities and cost adjustments to maximize financial performance.
- Evaluate underperforming business units, developing and executing turnaround strategies to improve profitability.
- Oversee workforce analytics, monitoring key metrics such as staffing levels, tenure, and turnover to enhance talent retention and operational stability.
- Design and implement performance scorecards and incentive programs, aligning operational goals with financial targets.
- Lead periodic financial data collection and reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for executive-level decision-making.
- Conduct financial health assessments across locations and present findings to senior leadership.
- Supervise and mentor financial analysts, ensuring high-quality analysis and reporting.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on long-term financial planning and business growth strategies.
- Partner with business operations and stakeholders to evaluate financial performance, identify profitability drivers, and implement strategic improvements.
Finance Manager Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, particularly in multi-unit or operational finance.
- Expertise in P&L management, cost analysis, labor productivity, and financial reporting tools.
- Experience in a high-volume, service-oriented industry is a plus.
- Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
