Payroll Manager

Payroll Manager Responsibilities:

• Supervise the payroll process for a significant workforce across North America, focusing on accuracy and timeliness, particularly for hourly employees
• Direct payroll operations in an organization undergoing significant expansion and process optimization
• Manage payroll processing across multiple regions (including Canada), ensuring full compliance with regional and federal regulations
• Lead a small team of payroll professionals, providing mentorship and support to maintain efficient payroll workflows
• Oversee a transition to new payroll systems and tools, ensuring seamless integration and adoption of updated processes
• Facilitate smooth payroll transitions during organizational integrations and acquisitions
• Ensure the payroll function consistently meets compliance, accuracy, and deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
• Collaborate cross-functionally to address payroll-related challenges and enhance operational efficiency
• Contribute to ongoing payroll system and process improvements to keep pace with organizational growth

• Oversee payroll reporting and assist with internal audits to ensure adherence to financial and regulatory standards

Payroll Manager Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in high-volume payroll processing
• Multi-state experience a must and international experience required, ideally Canadian 
• Prior supervisory experience managing a payroll team
• Strong understanding of payroll compliance, regulations, and reporting requirements
• ADP Workforce Now experience is required
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
• Experience in a high-growth, mid-market company environment; private equity or acquisition exposure is a plus
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage across all levels of the organization, including C-suite and private equity stakeholders
• Highly organized, a critical thinker, and able to manage shifting priorities in an evolving business environment
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving, and global environment with developing processes and systems
