We are conducting a search for a Payroll and Benefits Manager for one of Tampa Bay’s premier employers. This person will play a crucial role working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, and we’re looking for someone with a genuine desire to enhance the quality of life for our client’s workforce. We're seeking a talented individual to manage and streamline the benefits administration processes, ensuring that our client’s team has access to top-tier healthcare, retirement plans, and more. In addition, you'll take charge of our payroll operations and will have the ability to make a genuine impact on the overall day-to-day processing for benefits administration and payroll. This person will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement efficient systems, resolve employee inquiries, and stay up-to-date with state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will have a meticulous approach and problem-solving skills to contribute to the seamless delivery of benefits and payroll services, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Payroll and Benefits Manager Benefits and Compensation:

Payroll and Benefits Manager Job Duties: 

  • Responsible for timely, accurate, and compliant processing of multi-state bi-weekly payroll
  • Process employee data for new hires, changes, additional earnings, etc. and handle employee Time & Attendance data, reconciling variances
  • Make recommendations for payroll related policies
  • Maintain vacation and paid time off in company’s payroll system
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of payroll software and HRIS, generating on-demand reporting
  • Administer all employee & volunteer benefit programs
  • Handle tuition reimbursements, workers’ compensation, life insurance claims, along with garnishments and child support payments
  • Work with Brokers to conduct annual benefits review
  • Conduct research, analyze options, perform cost analysis, and make recommendations
  • Interpret FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities
  • Processes and administer all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA. Makes recommendations to employee leave policies

Payroll and Benefits Manager Skills/Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and HR-related professional certification highly preferred
  • 3-5 years of relevant benefit or payroll administration experience
  • Knowledge of state and federal HR laws and regulations related to benefits administration along with payroll administration
  • Expertise of benefits programs including health insurance, long-term disability programs, workers’ compensation insurance, etc.
  • Understanding of HR policies and programs
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel
  • System savvy and process-oriented thinker
  • Solid critical thinking and analysis and attention to detail
  • Superb communications skills required
