Senior Accountant

Join a well-established organization as a Senior Accountant and step into a meaningful, well-rounded role where your strong accounting foundation, analytical skills, and commitment to accuracy will support the integrity of the finance function across a broad scope of responsibilities. You will be an active contributor to the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycles, prepare and analyze financial reports for leadership, and partner with department managers who rely on your financial insight. If you bring 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong US GAAP fundamentals, and a mindset focused on improving processes and driving efficiency, this role offers both impact and long-term growth potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger activities and prepare account reconciliations as part of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
- Prepare and review financial statements; provide variance explanations and actionable insights to management.
- Prepare journal entries and accruals with appropriate supporting documentation; ensure transactions are accurate and complete.
- Identify and resolve account discrepancies; maintain compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
- Oversee fixed asset accounting, including project setup, CIP tracking, capitalization, depreciation, and asset disposals.
- Partner with site finance and operations teams to ensure accurate and timely recording of fixed asset activity.
- Research and document accounting matters in accordance with US GAAP and company policies.
- Support ongoing process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounting function.
- Recommend practical solutions to streamline workflows, strengthen controls, and improve reporting processes.
- Assist with external audits by preparing schedules and providing organized supporting documentation.
- Provide financial reporting and guidance to department leaders across the organization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on special projects and ad hoc initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience with strong US GAAP knowledge.
- CPA or CMA preferred.
- Experience with a large ERP system and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.).
- Background in fixed asset accounting preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and a proactive, dependable work style.
- Experience in a multi-location or manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to identify efficiencies and contribute to process improvements.
