Senior Accountant Job Duties: 

• Perform month end close responsibilities
• Track expenses and investigate variances to identify and determine proper accruals
• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve outstanding items
• Partner with department heads to understand transactions and arrangements, to proactively ensure proper accounting treatment
• Become subject matter expert for assigned area
• Identify opportunities for automation and streamlining, and improved financial reporting
• Assist with drafting disclosures and preparing supporting documentation for external filings
• Provide support and assistance to external and internal auditors for your area of expertise
• Review the work of lighter team members and provide coaching and development to staff

Senior Accountant Skills/Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar field required
• Active CPA license required
• 4+ year of professional accounting experience
• Audit experience with a public accounting firm preferred
• Corporate accounting experience with large public company a plus
• Strong foundation of GAAP knowledge and ability to apply to new accounting issues
• Interest in developing deeper subject matter expertise in specific accounting and reporting areas
• Team player, collaborative personality, and an innovator!
• Ability to work in fast paced environment and make quality decisions with a sense of urgency
• Proficient with financial systems as well as Excel
