Senior Accounting Manager Job Duties: 

• Coordinate the end-to-end payroll process to ensure timely and accurate payment of salaries, wages, and other employee compensations.
• Resolve any payroll-related issues and discrepancies by liaising with HR and finance teams.
• Supervise the accounts payable function, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and reconciliation of accounts.
• Coordinate the development of the annual budget, working with department heads to gather and consolidate financial information.
• Lead the preparation of quarterly financial forecasts, collaborating with various departments to gather necessary data.
• Analyze financial trends and performance indicators to provide accurate and reliable financial projections.
• Implement effective controls and procedures to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Compile and analyze financial statements for both the parent company and its affiliates, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
• Provide insightful commentary and analysis on financial performance to support strategic decision-making.
• Monitor outstanding accounts receivable and implement strategies to ensure timely collection of payments.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers to address and resolve billing issues promptly.
• Work closely with external CPA firms to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, and to optimize tax liabilities.
• Oversee the monthly financial close process, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
• Review and reconcile deferred revenue accounts, ensuring accurate recognition of income.
• Manage intercompany transactions, prepaid expenses, depreciation schedules, and commission calculations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Perform monthly budget comparisons to identify variances and provide detailed analysis to management.
• Maintain accurate records of fixed assets, including acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.

Senior Accounting Manager Skills/Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
• CPA strongly preferred
• Knowledge of monthly financial statements, multiple entity consolidation, GAAP reporting and some budgeting/forecasting
• Mix of public accounting and industry experience with financial reporting experience preferred, but not required
• Solid Excel skills
• Sage Intacct strongly preferred
• Strong planning and organization skills and understanding of the importance of deadlines
• Superb communications skills required
