Senior Statutory Accountant (P&C)
Location: Tampa Bay Area | Flexible Hybrid
Compensation: $90–115K base (commensurate with experience) + excellent benefits

We are seeking a Senior Accountant with strong external audit experience in P&C Insurance to join a growing, close knit team within a well established residential property insurance organization.

What You Will Be Doing
- Support statutory accounting for multiple insurance carriers, including month end journal entries (gross and net of reinsurance) using NetSuite
- Maintain balance sheet account reconciliations
- Prepare statutory (yellow book) financial reports
- Record Accounts Payable and ensure all regulatory reporting and payment deadlines are met
- Record STAT to GAAP conversion entries
- Assist with internal and external audit requests
- Prepare billings to reinsurers
- Provide technical guidance to senior leaders
- Perform financial analytics to explain fluctuations and uncover insights
- Identify process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency
- Actively communicate with reinsurers, auditors, and external partners with professionalism and accuracy
- Serve as an active team member, assisting and reviewing work of staff accountants as needed
- Cross train team members and support knowledge sharing
- Participate in special projects, including automation and streamlining initiatives within accounting and finance
- Contribute to organizational success through ongoing learning and development
What You Bring
- CPA required
- Ideal background: external audit experience from Big 4 or regional firm, or a mix of public/private
- Strong statutory & GAAP accounting knowledge required
- Someone who enjoys working cross functionally, improving processes, and contributing to a collaborative team
- Candidates needing a delayed start date due to busy season are welcome to discuss timing
- Experience with NetSuite a plus
- Strong communication skills
- Process improvement mindset
