Tax Compliance Manager

Tax Compliance Manager | $120,000-$150,000 + Comprehensive Benefits
Location: Tampa, FL (In-Office) | Full-Time
A global manufacturing leader is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tax Compliance Manager to lead federal and state income tax compliance efforts at its newly relocated headquarters in Tampa, FL. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established organization during a transformative period, with strong leadership and a collaborative, modern office environment.
The Tax Compliance Manager will oversee complex tax filings, planning initiatives, and audit defense, while ensuring compliance with evolving tax regulations. This role offers high visibility and the chance to work alongside seasoned professionals with Big 4 backgrounds.
What You’ll Do:
Tax Compliance
- Prepare federal consolidated Form 1120 and multiple state income tax returns using CORPTAX
- Reconcile tax depreciation and prepare Forms 4562, 4626, and 4797
- Manage all book-to-tax adjustments including bonus depreciation, UNICAP, Section 163(j), etc.
- Upload international tax packs for Forms 5471, 8858, and 8865
- Compute apportionment and state tax modifications
- Assess nexus and determine required tax filings
- Prepare extensions and estimated tax payments
Tax Planning
- Oversee domestic and state tax issues related to acquisitions, dispositions, restructurings, and general planning
- Monitor and interpret changes in U.S. and state tax laws
Tax Accounting
- Maintain inventory of federal deferred taxes and permanent adjustments (e.g., meals & entertainment, lobbying)
- Compute provision-to-return adjustments
- Prepare year-end tax provision inputs including:
- NOL expiration and valuation allowance analysis
- State FIN 48
- State effective tax rate
- Bonus depreciation deferred tax adjustments
- Current state tax accruals
Audit Defense
- Lead defense efforts for IRS and state tax audits
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree and/or CPA preferred
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in public accounting and/or industry
- Required: CORPTAX experience
- Preferred: ASC 740 knowledge; experience with AS400, Onstream, and Alteryx
- Proven ability to manage multiple staff and meet tight deadlines
- Strong technical expertise and attention to detail
