We are assisting our privately held client company with its search for a tax leader.  The Tax Manager should be a professional who enjoys being in the detail as well as leading and developing a small tax team. With its interface with professionals both internal and external to the organization, confidence and interest in dealing with people are important. Tax Manager Benefits and Compensation:

• Salary $140,000 to $150,000, plus additional bonus potential and great benefits package 

Tax Manager Job Duties: 

• Facilitate and manage the preparation and review of company federal and state income tax returns and the accurate, timely filing of all tax forms
• Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures
• Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes
• Manage members of the in-house tax team and outsourced firms as they prepare data for various income tax returns and other tax documents
• Develop and manage an overall compliance calendar and coordinate timing and inputs with tax team
• Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process
• Manage and facilitate IRS income tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team and create strategies to respond to changes in tax laws and regulations
• Provide support for special tax related projects
• Review tax returns and quarterly/yearly tax projections
• Manage and mentor members of tax team to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement
• Manage special projects as needed

Tax Manager Skills/Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• CPA highly preferred
• Public accounting and/or industry tax experience required
• 2+ years leadership experience required
• Working knowledge of partnership tax
• Familiarity with federal, state and local reporting requirements
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to create processes and drive process improvements
