Tax Supervisor – Partnership & State Tax
Location: Greater Tampa Bay | Heavily Remote (Local Candidates Only)
Compensation: Up to $115K + Bonus
This is a newly created role within a growing organization operating in a complex, multi-state environment. As the company expands its tax function, we’re seeking an experienced tax professional to partner with a highly respected Head of Tax. This position offers the chance to work on partnership and state tax matters daily—not occasionally—while shaping processes from the ground up. With operations spanning all 50 states and a high volume of filings, this is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on detail, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. What You’ll Do
- Prepare and review state income tax returns across all 50 states.
- Manage partnership tax compliance and reporting.
- Assist in developing and implementing tax processes and internal controls.
- Collaborate with accounting leadership on strategic tax planning initiatives.
- Research and analyze state tax issues, including nexus and apportionment.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions.
- Ensure timely and accurate tax filings and documentation.
- Liaise with external advisors and internal stakeholders as needed.
- Monitor legislative changes impacting state and partnership tax.
- Contribute to tax provision and reporting efforts as needed.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA strongly preferred.
- Experience in public accounting or a mix of public/private roles.
- Deep expertise in partnership tax and state income tax compliance.
- Strong understanding of nexus and state tax concepts.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Flexible mindset and openness to process evolution.
- Positive, proactive attitude aligned with team culture.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
